The Gates On Roblin

We had an opportunity to set our Mirror X up at the Gates the summer for a wedding. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The owner of the Gates arrived early to help the couple set everything up and stayed right to the end of the night. He watched over every detail and was super calm. Incredibly nice gentleman. I highly recommend this venue - the whole experience is breathtaking- both inside and outside!!

Our family booked a private room at The Gates to celebrate our Mom's 85th birthday this past Saturday. Ray was so helpful in planning, getting us the right room for our group and working closely with Chocolate Zen to ensure we had amazing custom cakes - and they were AMAZING! We had requested cakes that reflected my mom's passions - making soups and pies and creating bouquets (especially with peonies and daisies). They truly came through for us and my mom was blown away. The team looking after us was incredible - friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding - everyone is still talking about the dry rib appetizer! Thanks again to Ray and his team for making our night so special - I highly recommend them for group celebrations!

Another wonderful brunch the Gates today. Such a variety of tastes from beef, chicken and seafood to salads, cheeses and pastries. Started off with the asparagus and pea soup that was great, pasta salad and fresh shrimp with a zippy cocktail sauce. I pretty much proteined up with prime rib, tenderloin, chicken and mushroom sauce and tempura shrimp. I did not hit up the omelette bar or the dessert table this time but looked good as always. Pleasant atmosphere as always and our server took great care of the four of us!

Wonderful experience, Michael is the best I’d recommend to just go and see him. We came for dinner for 4. Food was delish and so were the drinks we had. Definitely a good spot for a more fancy high end type of date to impress. Great food and a nice place. 5/5

We had an amazing experience having our wedding at The Gates this past August. We were totally blown away by everything that Nadine, Ray, and the rest of the team at The Gates did to ensure everything about our wedding day was perfect and went so incredibly smoothly. We are especially grateful to Nadine for all the help she provided us through the wedding planning process, patiently answering our never ending questions and being available seemingly 24/7 to reply to our many emails. We felt well prepared and knew exactly what to expect for every point in the day due to her professionalism, keen attention to detail and impressive organization skills. We were able to enjoy every moment of the day as everything was taken care of, there was truly nothing to worry about! Nadine was also very respectful and supportive of our vision for the day; while she was certainly happy to offer suggestions or opinions, we never felt pressure. Ray was awesome to work with as well, and provided excellent service on the wedding day. It is clear Ray wants nothing but the best for guests at The Gates and will do anything he can to ensure everything is smooth sails. Ray even expertly helped me take my veil out during our cocktail hour when I couldn’t find my mom or bridesmaids! The food was amazing and we had so many guests comment on how much they enjoyed their meal. While often times banquet style catering can leave much to be desired with bland food and small portions, The Gates sets itself apart by providing generous portions of delicious, flavourful plates. It was actually hard to choose our menu with so many great options! We had also requested a small plate of appetizers from our cocktail hour be left on our sweetheart table as we were mingling and didn’t have a chance to eat. We were very pleasantly surprised to find a large platter with beautiful garnishes waiting for us to enjoy when we sat down for dinner! Additionally, the late night snack was by far the best we’ve ever had at a wedding or event! The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and with very simple decor we were able to make the space feel that much more elegant and elevated. The well maintained grounds made for the perfect photo backdrop, which was nice to not have to think about finding another location and made for a smooth timeline. Even months later we are still receiving compliments about our wedding from our friends and family, including several who have said our wedding was the best they’ve ever attended! The venue is obviously a huge part of that! The Gates went above and beyond our expectations and we highly recommend to any couple searching for the perfect wedding venue! Kelsey & Andrew

I wanted to thank Ray, Nadine and the staff for such a wonderful Saturday evening celebrating my godparents 50th wedding anniversary. The food was amazing and the service was out of this world.

The Gates On Roblin was the perfect place to hold our intimate family Memorial Gathering to remember our Mother/Grandmother on May 2, 2025! Excellent professional service, atmosphere, and delicious food along with the presentation of it. Many family members commented through the meal; how wonderful the meal was and location selected. We were a party of 11 and reserved the upstairs room called “The Study” that open to a small balcony. Capacity was perfect for this room. From the time I reached out online, to The Gates to obtain information, to meeting with the Manager Ray to finalize our evening and meal; it just went so smoothly. I felt so well taken care of for this event, with great personal service offered for details. ie: extension cord, music speaker, projector screen. We will definitely be back and have already shared our wonderful experience at The Gates this spring with those we know. Great Staff All round! Thank You
